4. A New Story To Unfold
This kind of ties in to the atmosphere of a game. What we like nowadays is a fictitious world that's not only as good as a film, but actually surpasses it. The plot of the new Amnesia is set a little while after the original (60 years) and follows the story of industrialist Oswald Mandus. See, it would have been easy to just rehash the first instalment and throw in some different monsters and threats. But with the opportunity to step in another character's shoes, it's a chance to wander around in a new person's mind as we piece together a new puzzle. Which is probably a fancy way of saying we want to hear what a different protagonist sounds like when he jumps...
