2. Shopping Mall Tycoon
To be honest I am a little surprised this one hasn't been done before, but this could be interesting nonetheless. Shopping malls are places where a lot of stuff needs to be maintained and run to ensure that it goes smoothly- perfect for a tycoon game. Players can build the sort of shopping mall they want with various sorts of levels and then rent out the space to various shops to ply their wares. The player would have to ensure that the shops had adequate security in the form of security guards and cameras to ensure crime was kept down to a minimum and janitors to ensure the cleanliness of the store. The combination of stores and amenities would be very important. Food courts for example, probably should be easy to get to and to find while big department stores would all be vying for the prime spaces of the shop. Shops would opt out of the mall however if the customers did not turn up, so it would be important for the mall to be well maintained and easy to get around- with Information Desks. The player would compete with other shopping malls to attempt to turn over the most revenue and therefore become the most rich shopping mall owner in the game.
