5 Ways To Save The Legend Of Zelda

2. New Hero?

WiiU_ZeldaWindWaker_Scrn09 Now this one I would understand if it was not implemented in a new Zelda, but let me delve a bit here. Link is just a name, he doesn't need to be our Peter Pan inspired hero. He changes so little over the games, I understand it€™s a way to connect the series pieces into one whole. But really why can€™t Link be say older or a woman? I rather have the character be young, but why can€™t Link be a girl? I mean let€™s be honest, the reason he never changes because fanboys would go crazy. No creative reason, just pandering to the older fanbase. I€™m sure the young female fans would think it€™s pretty cool to have a female hero who isn't some princess or a twig with balloons tied to it. Maybe the option should be there, give fans the choice of gender. Or is that too far away from our Zelda Golden Guidelines? Link is hardly more than an avatar, why not change his look a bit and make him a lady? This is coming from a dude who almost never plays as female characters, because I have trouble connecting on roleplay level. Even I would play as chick Link, though I would take any innovation towards Link at this point. A voice, gender change, new look, something that is different. No? Okay Also where did Link€™s epic sideburns go? I am pro sideburns returning for the next game, I don€™t care if he€™s only 13 in it.
