50 Greatest Video Game Villains Of All Time!

10. M.Bison (Street Fighter)

During the early days of Street Fighter II General M.Bison was the boss gamers all around the world were struggling to defeat, after tough battles to get through the general roster, the bosses began, with Balrog then Vega and Sagat. If you were good enough (or lucky enough) to fight through these guys then M.Bison was your final test, catching most of us off guard with his psycho crusher attack, forcing his whole body to erupt into flames and soar from one corner to another into your fighters chest. Due to his odd move list and movement style Bison is a difficult enemy to face and has lasted through every Street Fighter game.

9. Andrew Ryan (Bioshock)

Both a Megalomaniac and a huge industrialist, Andrew Ryan gave birth to Rapture. His initial ethos of a world free from corruption, free from the shackles bound onto you by society allowing you to explore every avenue of science and art was admirable and at first agreeable. Andrew Ryan quickly had to deal with the fact that his ideals led to the creation of horrible creatures that should never have existed, this pushed him to the edge. All throughout Bioshock you feel Ryans presence from the art work and propaganda littered throughout the world to the constant broadcasts of his world view, Ryan is a good villain as he reflects the normal man given a chance to wield power only to make things worse rather than build utopia.

8. Albert Wesker (Resident Evil)

Throughout the Resident Evil franchise Wesker has combined two of the worst traits any villain can have, he€™s a filfthy backstabber and just wont die. Wesker was once the leader of the S.T.A.R.S unit, an elite police force, but he was more than happy to lead his €œfriends€ to their death, throwing them into the Spencer Mansion and into the path of the deadly T-Virus simply to prove how effective his own work on the virus was. You may think you€™ve thwarted his plans at the end of the first Resident Evil, but no, he re-appears time and time again, growing stronger, faster and even more devious in each sequel, this is due to him injecting himself with the t-virus to survive the stomping you gave him in your first tangle.

7. The Joker (Batman Arkham Asylum)

The back story of The Joker changes vastly depending on the medium your into, the one thing however that is clear to everyone that knows is his pure insanity and his capacity for crazed psychotic violence. The Joker has pushed Batman so far that he€™s almost broken his €œone rule€ on so many occasions! From murdering Jason Todd (the second Robin) by beating him to mush with a crowbar to almost killing Barbra Gordon (Batgirl) leaving her paralyzed permanently. Bear in mind on top of this The Joker has killed a huge amount of civilians with gleeful abandon. The Joker is such a good villain because he€™s a match for Batman intellectually, making for a great story.

6. Ganon/Ganondorf (The Legend Of Zelda Series)

With a desire to attain the ultimate weapon and destroy the world, Ganon is an evil one indeed, he has a bit of an edge however as he possesses the power of the Triforce in his hands. This part Bull, part Pig monster is always at it, committing crimes such as arson, assault and kidnapping (he has a knack for kidnapping Princess Zelda). Ganon is a master of sorcery and has huge amounts of strength due to the power of the Triforce, making him a nasty piece of work, so much so he€™s actually appeared in all of the zelda games so far, in one form or another! If your going toe to toe with this bullish foe (see what I did there?) then you should definitely have some bottled fairies at hand!
