6 Most Unlikely Guest Characters In Fighting Games

3. Norimaro (Marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter)

Ezio Soul Calibur
Capcom

Norimaro is a character created in partnership between Capcom and Japanese comedian Noritake Kinashi.

News of the character came to light when Capcom announced that he would feature in the "most recent work in the Street Fighter series", eventually debuting in Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter - for no other reason than it was literally the most recent game they had in development at the time.

Norimaro is exclusive to the Japanese version of the game, even though the majority of the character's localisation for the West had been completed. According to the Japanese publication Gamest, Marvel were not too happy with the inclusion of the character which could go some way to explaining why he wasn't in the Western release.

It's hard to say anyone could truly look out of place in a game where Dhalsim can fight Captain America, but Norimaro still manages to stick out like a sore thumb amongst the roster. Interestingly, the design process that went into creating the character can be seen in its entirety in Kinashi's show "Tonneruzu no namade Daradara Ika Sete!!" - including the motion capture, provided by Noritake Kinashi himself.
