A bold direction that Yuke's could go would be an MMO set in the wrestling world. This is another territory that WWE toed the water with THQ before they went under. SmackDown vs. Raw Online was going to be a free to play (read: microtransactions filled) multiplayer game with the concept of building and developing a created or existing superstar.

A simple, fun concept with a definite market. However, this game never made it far. Originally being planned for a PC exclusive release and launching only in South Korea, the faith in the game seemed minimal from the beginning. Then in 2011, it was officially cancelled.

But could this work eight years later? Now with consoles supporting these types of games more easily, the potential audience is much larger. And sure you have MyCareer, but a game built solely around the framework of an MMO could still be viable as a separate entity. And would they really care about having to have you build up two characters on two games, spending twice as much virtual (read: real) currency in the process? In fact, a way to bridge this new IP and 2K20 together might be the ultimate cash in. Which brings up the next possibility...
