4. Customization And Strategy
X and Y is awesome about Customization. In former games the only customization (aside from what Pokémon are in your party) is what you name yourself and other characters. X and Y is awesome in letting you choose what you look like. In the beginning you get to choose your hair and skin tone. Later in the game you find different clothing stores to customize what your character wears. You also find a makeup room where you can add facial hair, freckles, or Pikachu cheeks for the heck of it. X and Y also leaves more opportunity for strategy. There are countless differences between the two games, so even choosing which one to get is part of your strategy. In X and Y you get to choose two starter Pokémon, one from the new Kalos region, along with one from the Kanto region. Also, this is unconfirmed, but there are rumors about being able to get two Kalos region starters. Whatever Pokémon you choose, your friend will take the type weak against it and give it to you later on in the game. I.E. If I chose a Fennekin (fire type) my friend would choose Chespin (grass type) and give it to me later in the game. The new Fairy type Pokémon also opens up more opportunity for strategy. We still know very little about this type, but those who can discover it's strengths and weaknesses will have advantage over other trainers. The official strategy guide releases October 22nd.
