6 Video Game Enemies Who Turned Into Allies
2. Alexios/Kassandra - Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has two options for your protagonist, and therefore two options for your antagonist. Depending on which of the siblings you pick to play as (though Kassandra is the canon choice — check the novelisation), the other will fill the role of the game’s front-of-house antagonist, Deimos.
Having been chucked off a cliff and brainwashed into being a demigod pawn for the game’s true villain, the mysterious Cult Of Kosmos, Deimos is peppered in as the big bad throughout the game’s opening. This makes for a perfect reveal when you infiltrate a cult meeting and discover they are in fact your long lost baby sibling.
Deimos remains hostile for the majority of the game, but is one of several characters (including the rest of your immediate family!) who you can choose to kill or spare throughout the narrative.
If spared, the former Deimos recovers their original name and returns to being both your sibling and your ally. After a nice family dinner outside your old family home, they can be recruited as a lieutenant on your ship, The Adrestia, and will accompany you on all of your future adventures following the main quest’s conclusion. We do love a reunion.
