6 Video Game "Fixes" (That Actually Broke Everything)

1. Dead By Daylight - Wake Up

Dead By Daylight is no stranger to weird bugs and patches that fix one issue, breaking several others in the process. Mix that in with the fact the game is in a constant shift based on new killers, perks, maps and changes to the meta and the game’s health is in always at risk.

Take June 2019, for example. With the release of Ghostface to the game, offering a new stealth and marking ability, we saw a huge, unintentional buff to Wake Up. Weirdly enough, this perk had nothing to do with Ghostface and was released years earlier with the Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter.

In summary, Wake Up allows survivors to open exit gates 15% faster. Generally, it's not great and would rarely be used in top-tier builds.

However, as of the 3.0.0 update, lasting a month or so, that exclusive, individual buff to opening gates now affected every survivor action. Healing, repairing generators, unhooking, even synergising with other perks offering stackable bonuses.

This meant that if you paired it with Prove Thyself, you could get well over 30% increased gens speed. Pair it with Resilience and Spine Chill, perks which together add 15% increased vault speed and you can now jump over windows as fast as The Flash.
