6 Video Game Sequels With Worse Graphics Than The Original

2. James Bond 007: Blood Stone

Activision/MGM Interactive

James Bond games fell out of vogue in the late 2000s, but the games themselves were still pretty damn enjoyable. In fact, Quantum of Solace was arguably better than its movie counterpart. Blood Stone, on the other hand, was a complete misfire.

Swapping developers and game engines, Quantum's follow up wasn't a total failure, but it had all the hallmarks of a lazy cash-in. Its predecessor wasn't a beautiful game by any means, but Call of Duty's reliable IW engine was as polished as ever, rendering Daniel Craig's likeness and the title's frantic shootouts without a hitch, with pretty decent environments to boot.

Blood Stone, on the other hand, despite having a better lighting system, fell down in pretty much every other area, especially during regular third-person shooting sections. Bond himself looked fine, but the limitations of the levels and characters made the whole affair feel distinctly last gen. Hell, Judi Dench's M looks like a robot wearing the real actor's skin.
