6. The Terminator
The Terminator franchise has suffered from some dodgy tie-in games in recent years as well as some pretty decent games from the older generations, but with the future of the film franchise up in the air as usual, a game based on a world that is a perfect fit for gaming would always be welcome. The man versus machine war of the future is perfect for a Gears of War style third person shooter (Binary Domain recently did man versus robot action in a similar and enjoyable enough way) with big scale action set-pieces and big open battlefields full of carnage and exciting battles. There is a wide mythology built up over the years to take from, whether focusing on the initial stages of the rise of the machines, or further down the road where defeating the robots for once and for all seems possible. There are a wide range of possibilities for a Terminator game, driving elements could be included (which was used well in Terminator 3: The Redemption game a few years back) as well as more traditional action adventure elements in the destroyed Los Angeles ruins. The series is screaming out for a top quality game.
