7 Best WWE Video Games For Recreating The Royal Rumble

5. WWF No Mercy

What a game this was for the Nintendo 64. No Mercy's Rumble was a fantastic match to play. Obviously, its gameplay couldn't compare to that of WWF Smackdown! But that's was a hard task to pull off back in the year 2000. WWE gamers of a certain vintage are all aware of the pitfalls of this game compared to its rivals, but there were certain quirks that made it utterly brilliant. In the Rumble match, the main quirk was the ability to dropkick your opponent in the middle of the ring so hard that it would send them flying over the top rope. It didn't happen very often but when it did it was a magnificent sight. Other features such as the 'ELIMINATED' banner that would appear on the screen and the fact that a superstar that had just been sent to the floor seemingly died for around five minutes as they lay there motionless, made this a greater than many give it credit for when you look back at it. You could mould your Rumble to have as many participants as you wanted, to the exact number. The entrances during No Mercy's Rumble were also as good as it gets. The camera would zoom into the face of the superstar that was running towards the ring at a rate of knots. It's the little things that make a game great.
