7 Exact Video Game Moments That Made You "Nope Out" Entirely
4. The Hellbrute Is Here! - Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters
While having only just dropped onto PC's with the weight of a thousand suns, Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gates: Daemonhunters is making waves within Warhammer and XCOM fan circles for all the right reasons.
Namely, because this game is wonderfully over the top and ball stompingly cruel at times, which is something that both camps take great pleasure in.
However, even hardy XCOM fans might find themselves kissing Papa Nurgle's taint from time to time thanks to some of the late-game enemies being pure "nope" machines who will ruin your day the moment they drop into battle.
Blightlord Terminators, Plague Champions, hell even pumped up Cultists can turn you into an offal if you're caught in the wrong position, but nothing will ever cause my terminators to shake in their wee booties more than when a Hellbrute comes to play.
These mechanical tombs of disease and plague are the absolute worst, charging headfirst into your lines, destroying cover like it was made of wet bread, and scattering your team so that you are forced to deal with it right then and there. It's enough to make the Grey Knights change their "We Shall Know No Fear" Policy to "Actually I'll Need A New Change Of Clothes Thanks".
Worst of all because you're focusing fire on this large and very much in charge fella, you'll leave yourself open to counter-attacks from the other enemies that spawned with it. So if you see one of these, run...or at least try to.
