7 Great Video Game Developers Who Keep Making TERRIBLE Mistakes
3. Remedy - Poor Marketing And Terrible Release Timing
Considering how many awards Control has won since its release, it's still absolutely staggering that so many people haven't played it yet.
Also, you should really go and play Control.
Remedy can write great stories and worlds, but when it comes to their marketing, they need a shake up. For you see, unless you were keen on Control already, there was very little in the way to promote the game.
Granted, there was more when it was out, what with all the scores and whatnot around it. But that doesn't generate pre-release hype, does it?
Could have been worse though.
Could have waited five years to finally release it, only for it to be massively overshadowed by Red Dead Redemption in 2010. That's what happened to Alan Wake, Remedy's other supernaturally inspired adventure.
This isn't a slight on Remedy at all, I love both Alan Wake and Control, as well as the Max Payne series.
It's just that Remedy keep shooting themselves in the foot when the time comes to actually put these games out.
Maybe they need to think of a new remedy for their marketing team.
