7 Horror Comics That Would Make Incredible Video Games
7. Marvel Zombies Vs. The Army Of Darkness
Marvel Zombies transports us to a world identical to it's 616 counterpart, but instead of the web-slingers, Asgardian gods and armored billionaires that normally dot the azure canvas of the New York skyline, the landscape of Earth-2149 is carpeted by the shambling hordes of the putrid undead. Spidey, Cap, Reed Richards, the Hulk, Wolverine - every morsel of the planet's population was divided among Marvel's finest, and despite shuffling around with the last vestiges of humankind rumbling through their bellies, the heroes are still so very, very hungry. Dropped into this hellish flesh-buffet is Ash Williams, square-jawed hero of the Evil Dead series. Convinced that the zombie outbreak is the result of a Deadite invasion, Ash sets off to right the universe and save the day. Which, given that he's... well, kind of a moron, can go either way. It's the kind of idea that sounds utterly bat-s**t on paper, but it's an absolute blast to read through - never mind what it'd be like to play. With the backdrop of a zombie-ravaged Marvel universe, prospective developers would have every facet of the comic's world to tinker with, and when you toss in Ash Williams as protagonist, there's no end to the fun - remember that scene in Army Of Darkness where Ash transformed his Delta 88 into a battle car? Swap that out for the Fantasticar. Or the 'Spider-Mobile'. Hell, might as well throw in Iron Man's armor while we're at it - why draw the line at battle suits? Cross Dead Rising with the open-world template of the Spidey games, and you'd have a good representation of what I'm going for. Who wouldn't want to pair up that chainsaw-hand with a repulsor gauntlet?
