7 Mass Effect Species That Need Their Own Games

2. Salarians

Amidst an air-tight cast it was Mass Effect 2's Mordin Solus who proved to be the breakout character, and in the process highlighted the potential of the Salarians as the featured race of a future game.

Asari are associated with diplomacy and Turians with military, while Salarians represent science, technology, and innovation. They possess hyperactive metabolisms that cause them to think and speak incredibly quickly and allow them to function on only one hour of sleep per day, with the drawback of a shortened lifespan. While that may not sound like a laugh riot, it should be noted Salarians are also highly skilled in the art of espionage.

Imagine playing as a fast-talking, highly intelligent Salarian armed with all manner of advanced gadgetry, stealthily breaking into secretive locations, evading detection and delicately manipulating events to your advantage. Mordin Solus (or a similarly charismatic Salarian) narrating a stealthy noire spy game or being paired with literally any other species in a buddy-cop detective story could not be more enticing.

Solus, an overt deep thinker, even has a background as a legendary operative in the Salarian Special Tasks Group, and took a key role in the modification and later potential cure of the Genophage, giving him plenty of potential narrative options to boot.
