5. Great Bay Temple - Majora's Mask
Unlike the two previously mentioned water dungeons, Great Bay Temple is an admirable failure. Although its severe difficulty can make it feel gruelling, this dungeon's unique design deserves recognition.
The Great Bay Temple consists of a complex network of pipes that the player must manipulate in order to progress through the dungeon. The originality of this dungeon is admirable, but having to control the pipes becomes increasingly difficult. Though it never becomes as annoying as raising and lowering water was in the Water Temple, controlling the water flow from the pipes gets real confusing real fast.
Thankfully, the Zora mask is an incredible item that makes this dungeon's difficulty somewhat forgivable. Navigating this labyrinth is no easy task, but swimming and fighting as Zora-Link is so much fun that it prevents this maze from becoming totally infuriating. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for this dungeon's boss.
Gyorg, the "gargantuan masked fish" the rests at the end of this dungeon, is one of the hardest bosses in all of Zelda. This boss manages to constantly sneak in a hit every time you damage it, and those hits add up fast. And God forbid if this ugly fish swallows you...
