5. Video Game Pianist
Remember as a kid when you were forced to play the piano? You had to practice scales and arpeggios for hours on end and you wondered what the point was? I'm still not 100% convinced this video isn't sped up. I'm fairly certain it isn't, but I don't see how he can play that fast and not catch fire a la Buffy's Once More With Feeling. Martin Leung, aka Video Game Pianist, plays his version of video game tunes on the piano. And there is so much understatement in that sentence I don't know where to start. His skill level is that of a concert pianist, and he doesn't just play the melody, he's able to play several different parts at once. See the video below where he's playing banjo music on the piano He has posted over one hundred videos on YouTube, and covers everything from Mario to Starcraft, even doing requests. He now deservedly makes a living from it, travelling the world to give concerts, and even selling albums of his work. I'll finish this with another one because it's lots of fun, but be sure to check out some of the longer ones, especially his Mario medley that he plays blindfolded, which does make him look a bit like a hostage, but will leave you open mouthed by the end. And no, I'm not sure why he's playing topless. Actually, let's be honest about it, yes I am, and if we looked like that, we'd want to show people too.
Richard Revell
Richard has been playing video games since the days of the BBC Micro, (and incidentally when is Chuckie Egg going to get a reboot?) He is currently available for the post of Head of Marketing at Nintendo, seeing as no-one else seems to be doing the job. He's also a major fan of fantasy/sf books and is just waiting for his novel about an assassin who doesn't wear a hood to get picked up.
