7 Most Disappointing Video Game Crossovers
1. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
The idea of a PlayStation version of Super Smash Bros. sounds amazing. Like Nintendo, PlayStation has a huge legacy of awesome games featuring awesome characters.
The problem is, a lot of characters who are associated with PlayStation like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Lara Croft aren't actually owned by Sony. Because of this, we had to settle for disappointing characters like Nariko from Heavenly Sword and Fat Princess in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Truly video game legends.
Yeah it's cool seeing Sackboy and Nathan Drake fight, and the game even has some cool DLC like Kat from Gravity Rush, but for a game called PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, it's missing many PlayStation All-Stars.
That wouldn't be the biggest problem if the gameplay was solid. Unfortunately, it's not.
Instead of just emptying an enemy's health bar or even knocking them off the stage, you have to beat them up to get your super moves. Your super moves are powerful attacks that are the only way you can kill an enemy.
What this leads to is huge periods of uninteresting fighting with no stakes which is then followed by a super move that might not even hit your target. You do that over and over again until someone wins, or - more likely - somebody dies of boredom.
