You think wandering in survival horror world is scary? Try being a toddler. This is the premise for indie game Among the Sleep., in which you play as a baby boy. But is just the beginning.

Shortly after settling to sleep, your mother is abducted and your teddy comes to life. Teddy is the good guy in this, the Robin to your baby-Batman, but he emits creepy vibes. His voice sounds sinister, instead of reassuring ,and his unblinking stare is intense.

Among the Sleep is set in a delightfully psychotic setting, a mishmash of dream worlds and nursery rhymes, and it is a clever device to use your protagonist to anchor you; these mechanics mean that your stature and clumsiness will always be a burden to you.

And on top of being a squishy child you must face down not one, but two monsters. The cherry on top of this masterpiece? Despite its childlike appearance the game is unforgiving. If you are unfortunate enough to die during your valiant efforts to find your mother, your game is reset to the last checkpoint and you must endure it all over again.
