5. Animation Woes

While there are bugs and glitches across the board in eFootball, perhaps the most noticeable is animation problems when playing matches. Sports games need to have the look and feel as if they flow in the same way players would in a real game. The best Pro Evos and FIFAs over the years have done just that, but eFootball is the exact opposite.

Collisions and duals are some of the hardest parts to recreate of the beautiful game onto the virtual field, but a new collision system was advertised as one of the key new features for the series this year. However, all too often when two players are jostling for possession it leads to game-breaking animations.

Within 24 hours of eFootball launching, clips of players' body parts going the wrong way or opposition players falling through each other were all over social media. It is most often found when two players are running for the same ball ahead of them and they tangle with each other. It looks worse when you slow the action down in replays, but it is noticeable even when just playing the game at normal speed.
