7 Ridiculously Hard Boss Battles Hiding In Easy Video Games

3. Sephiroth - Kingdom Hearts 2

Kingdom Hearts 2 Sephiroth

This might be quite controversial, but Kingdom Hearts 2 is quite an easy game. Encounters were slackened up to require little more than passionate X-button spamming, and then triangle when prompted, drive forms and summons were incredibly powerful, and (aside from that one ridiculous level in Timeless River with those vicious cars) there aren’t many encounters that will cause you sadness in this Kingdom Hearts instalment.

But, then again, Sephiroth always was good at making you cry.

A painfully long, gruelling boss fight, albeit optional, Sephiroth challenges you at Radiant Garden’s Dark Depths. If you enter into this fight not knowing what to expect, then you’re going to have a delightfully terrible time.

Sora battles Sephiroth alone, without the help of Donald and Goofy, and therefore with no drive forms nor summons. Timing is everything, and blocking one-hit-KOs whilst retaliating makes this one of the most epic, fast-paced and savage sword ights in the game, nay, the entire Kingdom Hearts series.

Just as you begin to get used to the one-winged angel’s quick sword attacks, he starts pelting you with magic, too. He is absolutely relentless, with his attack power increasing as he loses more and more health.

Brutal.
