As opposed to the wildly successful Dark Souls games which followed, Demon’s Souls is a much faster game, which has more in common with Bloodborne. If you play the games in quick succession, you’ll notice the difference immediately.
Dark Souls is renowned for its slow, crunching combat and is an absolute joy.
However, we've already had three Dark Souls games, so it would be somewhat disappointing if the Demon’s Souls Remake veered closer towards that direction.
Once you get familiar with the layouts of Demon’s Souls dungeons, it’s a treat to zoom through them at improbable speeds, like some third-person Doom protagonist.
