7 Video Games That Fixed Massive Plot Holes

1. Who Would Live In A House Like This? - Resident Evil 1 Remake

Have you ever been wandering around The Spencer Mansion of Resident Evil 1 and thought to yourself "hang on a minute, why the hell is this building so convoluted and absolutely stuffed with insane puzzles?"

I mean no worries if you didn't as you're likely trying to avoid having your leg bitting off and then said leg being humped to death by a persuing Cerberus, but still, once you step, or in this case hop back, and take a look at the architecture of the mansion it really does raise a pretty huge plot point, and was quite the immersion breaker for some fans who couldn't get behind the, at the time shrug of an answer of "because video games"

After all, who, in the name of all that is Wesker, would want to live in a house where the key to get into your kitchen is hidden inside a suit of armour three floors above you in a room that only becomes unlocked if you've managed to fish a key card out of what is affectionately known as "The Tunnel Of Birds"?

The answer is that you wouldn't right? Well, that is unless you weren't even making the house to be lived in but were building it as the most lavish and in-depth escape room OF ALL TIME.

George Trevor, as explained in the Resident Evil 1 Remake, was the architect of this mad mansion, and was contracted to create a wonderous "gimmick" house that he believed would be used by Oswell Spencer as a private retreat. Therefore all the puzzles present in the top side of the mansion were all implemented with the concept of being a fun set of challenges for the super-wealthy owner and his friends.

However, as we well know, Oswell truly wanted the house to be so confusing that intruders would never find his secret laboratory, and indeed began to adapt Georges designs further adding in deathtraps to thwart those who pressed too far. So there we have it a murder mansion made for a laugh that turned into anything but.

As a bit of added spice, George's architectural firm was actually contracted to build puzzles for several other Resident Evil locales and a receipt can even be found for one of his challenges in Resident Evil 7!
