Far short of some foreign leagues and the successive international youth tournaments; there isn't much football to enjoy this summer. You can wait patiently for your club's pre-season tour but don't hold your breath on seeing any matches if they're on the other side of the world. 4am for Man Utd v someone you've never heard of? Not likely!

So instead of relying on the beautiful game, why not consider some alternative sports for your viewing pleasure over the course of the warmer months? For example, the F1 championship looks set for one of its best years ever with Mercedes and Ferrari both exchanging pole positions and top spot on the podium.

Then again, why not Rugby? The Lions tour will soon be underway and the best the British Isles has to offer will be pitted against the most impressive international sides in the game. Trust me, you don't want to miss that!
