7 Worrying Signs That WWE 2K20 Will Be A Carbon Copy Of 2K19
6. No Gameplay
Despite debuting a "gameplay trailer" a few weeks ago, 2K still hasn't shown us any straight-up gameplay for WWE 2K20. Just to stress this, the game releases in just over a week's time, and we've legitimately not seen how the game plays, what to expect from moment-to-moment gameplay or even what the damn HUD looks like.
If this was any other franchise, nobody would be forking out any money for WWE 2K20. What game sells itself by not showing how it actually plays? There's a number of reasons 2K might have elected to do this, and while it might be because they want fans to experience the gameplay changes first hand, what's far more likely is that this year's release looks exactly like last year's, and the studio is trying to prevent the inevitable backlash.
After all, no other WWE 2K game has played it this cryptic with its gameplay, and with most of the titles often feeling fairly similar regardless, that's a really bad sign for those hoping the game could see a big overhaul this year.
The only new gameplay detail we've received so far is that the controls have changed to be more accessible to new players, so it's looking more likely that the footage is a preemptive attempt at damage control rather than a bid to maintain secrecy.
