7 Worrying Signs That WWE 2K20 Will Be A Carbon Copy Of 2K19

5. Focus On Small Selling Points In Advertising.

2K Games

While the WWE 2K games have always made small yearly changes to a handful of its modes, it's never made such a drastic point out of marketing them as now. Whether discussing changes to the interface of universe mode, the multiplayer lobby system or the addition of some changes to tower matches, WWE 2K20 has broken its radio silence to announce these small alterations on social media as if they're massive overhauls to the formula.

Fans were left completely confused when WWE dropped tweets hyping up these announcements as if they'd be massive. "UNIVERSE MODE. TOMORROW", one read, before detailing a few minor changes to the mode. "Online lobbies are back in #WWE2K20 multiplayer!", another read as if lobbies are a major return fans have been clambering for.

Sure, these are nice additions, but they're far from big marketing points that you have to unveil in hyped up press releases for the game. It practically screams out that 2K20 doesn't have a lot of big new changes to market itself on, using small quality of life improvements to advertise a full-priced game. These announcements feel like a series of 2K19 update logs, not pieces of crucial information that sell a big new game.
