If you delve into the darkest depths of eBay, you’ll find peripherals for the GameCube that you never imagined you’d want, need or immediately spend ludicrous amounts of money on. The GameCube remains the ultimate, customisable gadget console, and who doesn’t love making something their own?

The more obvious add-ons included the Game Boy player – the gadget tucked neatly underneath console to let you shove your favourite handheld experiences onto the big screen, which has been a selling point of Nintendo consoles since the SNES – it was inevitable.

The less obvious started with the network adapter, battery pack and travel screen and became zanier as time went on. Mario’s Dance Pad, DK’s Conga Bongos and the utterly useless GameCube Microphone are all worth ludicrous sums these days – you need them in your life; trust me.
