8 Bizarre Reasons Video Games Were Pulled From Sale

GTA LIBERTY CITY STORIES

Tiger Wood '99 PGA Golf Tour was pretty standard stuff for a golf game. It released to generally positive reviews on both the PlayStation and PC, and most consumers were likely completely unaware of a particularly spicy secret tucked away in the game's files.

The first 100,000 copies of the PlayStation version of the game contained a file titled "ZZDUMMY.DAT", which could only be discovered by inserting the disc into a PC. If you were to play the file you would be greeted with a VHS rip of "Jesus vs. Santa" - a short film created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, which served as the precursor to South Park.

According to the metadata on the discs, the file was created only four days before it was burned onto the CDs - which has led many to suspect that the file was uploaded in secret by an unknown EA employee.

EA were, understandably, not too happy, and recalled all of the copies of the game that contained the file. They referred to the content in Jesus vs. Santa as "objectionable to consumers", but they were also undoubtebly worried about getting sued for printing copyrighted material they didn't own.
