8 Dead Video Game Franchises That Should Be Resurrected
1. Crash Bandicoot
Every so often this beloved series crops up with people questioning why there havent been any new developments. Somehow Crash Bandicoot went from being the face if Playstation to a distant memory, ah how times have changed. The legendary character burst onto our screens in awesome PS1 advertisements in which he called out Mario. The games were a massive success and Crash Bandicoot has received many sequels and spin-offs. Despite the success and huge popularity, even still, for the character, it seems odd that the last full Crash game we got was Mind Over Mutant, a PS2 game in 2008. That really isnt that long ago but the last few games havent been anything like the originals, they had none of the original charm. One thing to bear in mind is that Crash Bandicoot was made by Naughty Dog, the company who is now, in my opinion, the leader in AAA titles. That being said theres no reason a new developer couldnt take the property and make a great game.(How has this yet to happen?!?)
We havent seen any Crash in a long time, which normally wouldnt be surprising as unless theres a new game we have no reason to but last year Sony released Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal but Crash was nowhere to be seen. Its beyond me how this one iconic character could be left out of a Playstation All-Star game, especially when it features characters like Parappa The Rappa and Dan Fortesque. Which isnt a knock to either of those characters or their games, I loved MediEvil. Only last month Co-creator of Crash, Andy Gavin, stated an interest in rebooting Crash and taking it back to its roots and starting over again. I think this is the best scenario for a character whos fallen to the wayside as of late. A new Crash with all the charm and innovation of the original would make for a great return for everybodys favourite fox. (Excluding Fantastic Mr. Fox, of course.) Which franchise would you like to see resurrected or rebooted? Sound off in the comments!
