8 Developers That Got Away With Selling You The Same Video Game Twice
4. Left 4 Dead 2
Look, I know. I know we all loved it - and man, Left 4 Dead remains one of the best zombie shooters of all time. But look back on it now and compare to that 2008 original: There is very little identifying the two.
In fact, looking back will immediately remind you of the overwhelmingly negative reception this had outside of how much fun it was to play. Coming just one year after the original and seeing a major plot resolution resigned to some pricey DLC, there was a prevailing feeling - outside of an initially disastrous showing at E3 - that this was nothing more than a cash-grab.
In reality, L4D 2 still played like a dream and gave an entire generation of gamers one of their most beloved online experiences of all time. But was it essentially Left 4 Dead with more bells n' whistles, DLC packs and a lack of meaningful changes? Sadly, yes.
