8 Dumbest Video Game Decisions With The BEST Rewards
6. Kill Yourself, Receive Eridium - Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2's late-campaign mission "Kill Yourself" is nothing if no succinct and to-the-point, with Handsome Jack quite simply tasking players with jumping from the nearby suicide spot Lover's Leap into the fiery abyss below, for which he promises to pay a "king's ransom," whatever that means.
If you decide to ascend Lover's Leap, you'll even get to see an NPC swan-dive into the molten drink before you, as if to hang up a neon signpost that says, "Nothing good will come from this."
But this being Borderlands, of course something good does come from shuffling yourself off your mortal coil. Take the leap and you'll be rewarded with 12 Eridium, which can be used to upgrade your character.
Given that Eridium is a vital resource in the game, that's a pretty damn neat chunk o' the stuff for the mere act of topping yourself.
In the event you decide to "wuss out," as Jack calls it, you'll get a little XP instead, but hurling yourself into the flames is clearly the most fortuitous outcome - a sentence that could only make sense in Borderlands of all things.
