8 Dumbest Video Game Decisions With The BEST Rewards
3. Jump Off Bard's Leap Summit, Get A Big Speech Boost - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Have you ever been high up somewhere in real life and gotten a sudden urge to jump despite having no suicidal tendencies whatsoever? It's a psychological phenomenon called "The Call of the Void" - a common intrusive thought that's apparently completely normal. Phew.
And the wonderful world of gaming allows you to indulge this morbid urge in considerably safer fashion, as is perhaps best evidenced by the Bard's Leap Summit in Skyrim.
This gorgeous towering waterfall practically screams "Jump off me, go on!" to anyone who stumbles across it. I mean, it's called Bard's Leap for Christ's sake.
And while it's a totally stupid thing to do in terms of progressing the game and, y'know, keeping your character alive, it does actually bear some surprisingly fertile fruit.
Despite the fact that leaping hundreds of feet from a cliff edge into a pool below would almost certainly shatter your bones and result in your drowning death in reality, in Skyrim the water provides a gentle cushion for your impact.
After this, you can swim to the surface and reach the shore, where you'll be greeted by the ghost of the bard Azzadal, who wasn't quite so lucky when he took a dive there.
Nevertheless, you'll get two princely rewards for your self-endangering act - Azzadal will play a lovely song for you on his lute, and then your Speech skill will increase by two whole levels.
