8 Dumbest Video Game Decisions With The BEST Rewards

2. Dive Into Vines, Receive Shotgun & Uzi Clips - Tomb Raider III

There isn't a single gamer among us who hasn't spent an embarrassing amount of time making Lara Croft leap acrobatically to her demise. We all know the stakes - dive foolishly into an unknown expanse and you'll receive a crumpled pile of Lara for your troubles.

Yet the first level of Tomb Raider III, Jungle, toys with this in a cleverly sneaky way. At the very beginning, you're supposed to slide down a massive slope to reach the bottom of the area, because there's seemingly nothing in your immediate vicinity worth interacting with.

Certainly not those totally inert vines, right?

But dumb/inquisitive players who decide to leap into the vines on the left-hand side of the screen will find themselves landing on a secret ledge containing two very handy pick-ups - a Shotgun and some Uzi ammo. Shibby.

Given that the rules of the game suggest it's totally daft and pointless to leap into vines that are purely decorative - especially on a perilous sloped area like this - it's fair to say that most players figured this one out by accident while carelessly flinging Lara around. Or, you know, they used a guide.
