8 Great Trailers For Underwhelming Video Games

3. Overkill's The Walking Dead

Love it or hate it, the Walking Dead has become a smash hit in so many different forms of media, and is a pop culture phenomenon.

From the original comic books to the various TV shows, planned films and even the video games, there always seems to be an element of success in all of it. Overkill’s take on the series however, just didn't work. This game, plain and simple, is awful.

It feels at least 10 years after it’s time. It is repetitive, unoriginal and really feels like Payday 2 wearing a zombie skin like one of those creepy Whisperers. While the game is painfully derivative of another classic, it isn’t the Left for Dead 3 sequel that we have been longing for.

The trailers for the game were really strong. Starting with the character Aidan, each of the 4 playable characters had a story trailer, with their own rich back story and an engaging narrative.

These trailers captured the spirit and feel of the source material so well and were enjoyable as their own little web series. It is just a pity that not as much effort was put into the full game.
