8 HUGE Predictions For WWE 2K24
4. New Gameplay Animations
When the previous entry mentioned that 2K23's WarGames wasn't quite perfect, it was referring to this article's (accurate) insistence that 2K Games need to take the series to the next level, animation-wise.
That article mentioned WarGames specifically, as the lack of any animations for diving on multiple opponents removes a key part of the match's appeal. (Seriously, 2023's Women's WarGames match wouldn't have gone nearly as hard without IYO's insane, trash-can assisted dive onto the entire field). But the issue goes beyond just one match-type, as WWE2K23's animation felt like it was being hindered through its reliance on last-gen tech.
We're now more than three years into the current generation of console gaming, and 2K Games need to start utilizing the power of the PS5 and Series X. (Or at least maximizing their decade-long experience with last-generation's technology). It's hardly an impossible task - EA showed the way with FIFA 23's gargantuan leap in visual quality and animation - and hopefully 2K Games have taken the necessary leap to provide WWE fans with the most fluid, life-like bouts yet.
