8 Insanely Different Versions Of The SAME Video Game

While it would be very easy for me to sit here and just point at the fact that Aladdin has a freaking sword in the Genesis version of the game as to how this version differs wildly from the SNES installment, I am a professional and thus I've prepared a more detailed explanation.

The actual biggest difference, outside of the old pixellated poker, is how these games approach their central playing experience. For example, the Genesis version sticks much closer to the film on which it's based, following key plot points and adding in more levels to better reflect the flow of the narrative. Therefore you end up feeling like you're playing through the movie, rather than a game using elements from the cinematic output as inspiration which is the route the SNES version goes down.

That's not to say it's a bad experience as a result, as in fact, the SNES version is arguably a better game, focusing on level design rather than retreading the source. This coupled with a slightly easier challenge makes the SNES version a supreme platforming game in its own right. Either way, there's a version here for whatever tickles your fancy.
