8 More Iconic Video Game Weapons

5. Super Shotgun (DOOM)

Mortal Kombat 11 Scorpion
Bethesda

Doom is a series that needs no introduction to anyone who's so much as brushed gently against the fringes of gaming culture.

It's renowned, revered and respected by designers and players alike all over the world. It's become such a cultural phenomenon through its gruesome gameplay, desolate atmosphere, and its near perfect shooting mechanics. But, you must remember, the weapons themselves do the ripping and tearing.

It's well known that Doom guy has an arsenal that's the envy of all his protagonist peers. With every one of them being written into gaming folklore at some point since the franchises' inception in 1993. However, recognition should be given to perhaps his most reliable, trusted, and no nonsense peice of handheld artillery... the super shotgun.

In every iteration of this legendary franchise the super shotgun absolutely obliterates whatever its fired at while sending blood, guts or body parts flying in every direction.

Blasting the hordes of hell apart, with this old favourite, brings out the FPS fan in all of us and you'll check yourself when you realise how big of a smile you have on your face while you do it.
