8 Most Wanted Video Game Remakes (That Would RUIN The Original)
4. Super Metroid
Some three decades since its release, Super Metroid remains the solid gold standard for the series, and boy, there sure are a ton of fans who would love to see it remade.
The thing is, Super Metroid is basically perfect the way it is.
The art style has aged like the finest of wines, its level design is first-rate, and it's really, really tough.
Fools aren't suffered lightly here, and while more recent Metroid games are hardly ultra-forgiving affairs, one suspects a Super Metroid remake would dial back that gut-wrenching, sweaty-palmed level of challenge.
Hell, even the game's infamously floaty controls are more of a feature than a bug, perfectly conveying Samus' weight as she moves around, but again, this would definitely be ironed out and, dare one say, "fixed" in a potential remake.
Leave Super Metroid where it is, Nintendo, and please, please just focus on getting Metroid Prime 4: Beyond out the door.
