8 One Shot Kill Weapons That Fail At Their Job

6. Pyramid Head's Great Knife - Silent Hill 2

The Great Knife is of course the giant blade carried around by Silent Hill 2's iconic foe Pyramid Head, and as he swiftly makes clear, he ain't using it to make sandwiches.

If you're on the receiving end of a hit from it, it'll kill you in one strike, even on the game's easiest difficulty, but later on, you'll actually be able to find the knife for yourself and even wield it.

Sounds great, right? Having the most powerful weapon in the game at your disposal to take on the nightmarish foes that come your way? Fantastic! Except, the big kicker is that the Great Knife weighs about as much as a large dog, making it largely impractical to use in combat situations.

Sure, the stubborn among us can use the Great Knife to fend off enemies, but the wind up for using it is so agonisingly prolonged, and you require so much time to recover from a strike, that it's extremely counter-intuitive to use. Nice idea, though.
