8 Predictions For The Upcoming WWE 2K23 Announcement
4. MyRISE Continues To Ascend
A vastly more successful revamp than the subject of the previous entry, WWE2K22's MyRISE (inexplicable capitalisation aside) was a much-needed improvement over the Career mode of previous WWE2K games.
Alongside its infamous glitches, WWE2K20 was lambasted for its simplistic career mode, the imaginatively titled MyCareer. MyCareer funnelled players from point A to point B in relentlessly linear fashion, leaving little room for player agency. 2K22's MyRISE, seemingly in direct response to this complaint, offered a much more choice-heavy campaign - for both male and female characters - that led to players feeling like they had actually guided their created superstar to the top, as opposed to simply pushing them along a pre-mandated path.
Given MyRISE's success, we expect 2K Games to highlight its return in the upcoming announcement. It will likely be a case of evolution over revolution - more choice, more match-types and hopefully more voiced dialogue - but if the MyGM debacle showed us anything, it's that WWE2K's developers shouldn't try fixing what isn't broken.
Speaking of which...
