8 Reasons EA Aren't Doing As Bad As You Think

3. Marketing Experts

Remember how bad Battlefront 1 was? And remember how good the marketing and publicity was for the sequel? Like them or not, EA knows how to sell a game. They are at least self-aware enough to understand how to swindle their way into player's good books. With Battlefront 2, they promised free DLC with one hand, whilst turning on the loot box production line.

They are excellent at pushing games forwards. Their marketing is second to none, which embodies their spirit. All it takes is that initial purchase. As soon as that purchase is pushed through, EA has succeeded. So, it's all about distracting from the hideous Mass Effect character design, and pushing the fun explorative world they've built.

Looking at their adverts, you can see that. You can see it in their E3 pushes. It's a P.T. Barnum-esque idea of showmanship and flash, to hide the cracks. Does this mean that EA are incapable of making an honest game? No. But all their recent titles show this exact practice.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
