8 Reasons To Be Excited For Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX

2. A Story United

As mentioned at the start of this article, one of the main goals of both ReMIXes has been to finally get all of the games -- and the complete story so far -- onto a single console. While those of us who invested in the PlayStation 3 with the hopes of getting to play an epic finale were left shafted for many years and will inevitably have to make the leap to the current generation if you haven't already, the arrival of these two collections is at least an enjoyable, necessary gift. With the series spread so thin across multiple platforms, Square's effort to unify the story for those unable or unwilling to console chase is a noble one. Beyond the inclusion of all the Final Mix material, the simple fact that they've taken the time to turn "lesser" entries like 358/2 Days and Re:coded into cinematic experiences to help flesh out the big picture is to be commended. As it stands, six of the series' seven main entries are now together for fans to enjoy, with 2012's Dream Drop Distance the only crucial piece of the story left missing from the ReMIX treatment. After years of fans missing out on certain games or pieces, Square has finally united the world of Kingdom Hearts to help everyone get up to speed in advance of the epic finale we've all been waiting for.
