8 Reasons You Should Be Playing World Of Warcraft Classic

6. It's Less Frantic

Over the years, World of Warcraft has gone to great lengths to make itself more accessible and more appealing to a new playerbase. This is understandable, given its remarkable longevity, but the game's pacing has borne the brunt of that change.

If you were to play the game's retail version, you could expect to reach level 10 in approximately 20 minutes, being awarded your first mount as a reward for your achievement.

The same feat in Classic is far more substantial. Getting to level 10 alone will take approximately 2 hours, and there's no mount in sight. If you're after that level of convenience, you'll have to earn it.

In modern WoW, you can take on handfuls of enemies at once without taking a scratch, and each one will be easily felled in mere seconds. Attempting the same in Classic will see you visiting the spirit healer every few minutes. Combat in classic is much slower and more methodical, requiring patience for enemies to move to exactly the right position to prevent you from pulling a team of mobs all at once.

Faster isn't always better, and while you can reach retail's max level in a matter of days, it blurs by so fast that you'll hardly remember how you go there. In Classic, you'll never forget the time you put in to each painstaking level.
