8 Remasters That Made Video Games WORSE
3. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD
Make no mistake, the Tony Hawk's series is dead. Thoroughly dead and beginning to smell because for some reason because its publishers refuse to give it the burial it deserves.
Once a landmark franchise boasting such entries as Pro Skater 2 and the Tony Hawk's Underground titles, the series began circling the drain with lacklustre ripoffs of the increasingly popular Skate and woeful garbage such as the gimmicky peripheral-based Ride and Shred.
One final death rattle before the rigor mortis set in with the abominable Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, an amalgam of the first 2 THPS for the Sony Playstation. A good idea on paper, its execution was extremely disappointing. The game did not feature any tricks or features from any later titles, and it lacked even basic core THPS features such as a park editor or local multiplayer.
For newcomers to the series, it felt sparse, clunky and unrefined, its lack of features comparing unfavourably to modern games. The experience was even worse for classic THPS fans, as the game simply felt threadbare - once again undermined by a distinct lack of content that had made the older games so widely cherished.
