8 Terrible Video Games Made By Amazing Developers
6. Star Fox Zero - Platinum Games
Star Fox Zero was supposed to be the grand return of everyone's favourite furry fighter pilot. Developed by both Nintendo and the usually-excellent Platinum Games, the long-anticipated title was the final flaccid puff of smoke Wii U owners had to endure before the Switch came out and reminded everyone that the publisher could still make high-quality releases.
Prioritising terrible, gimmicky controls rather than a gameplay system that was actually fun to use, considering how simple and basic Zero looks at a glance, the very act of playing it is more akin to a wrestling match. The thing is, when you do actually get into the groove, you quickly realise that the perseverance wasn't worth it, not only because it ends just when you're getting the hang of it, but also because the actual levels themselves are pretty dire.
Platinum used to be a flawless studio, but these days they seem like a team trying to juggle too much at once. That's resulted in inconsistent releases, but even with that in mind, nobody expected them to put their name to a game as bad as Star Fox Zero.
