8 Terrifying Video Game Moments That Are Laughably Outdated Now
6. Dead Rising's Psychopaths
Although Dead Rising always erred on the side of horror comedy than trying to purely terrify its players, the original game actually made an effort to be pretty spooky at times, especially with its enemy designs.
Consequently, while the title's psychopaths - deranged individuals who acted as boss fights around the map - were imaginatively wacky, their oddball designs were still intended to be pretty creepy at the time.
However while some of them retain their horror factor today, other memorable ones like Pennywise's two-bit cousin Adam the clown don't hold up quite so well.
Adam's off-kilter voice and manic laugh used to be enough to haunt players' dreams, but now it just makes the character's dodgy animations look even more hilarious. Aiming a weapon at the psychopath and watching him bounce around the screen is one of the funniest things in the game, made even more humorous by how hard the game is trying to push him as a genuine threat.
