It's true: Hideyuki "Geta" Iwashita is set to play a starring role in AEW's 3D title. If you happened to be unfamiliar with his work, then All Elite had you covered by including some handy info on his 'entrance graphic'. Geta was the lead director on cherished 90s gem WWF No Mercy.

Now, he's bringing all that knowledge and zest for producing kick-ass control schemes to AEW Games. This is fabulous news for those who look at the N64 classic as the perfect pro wrestling video game. As hinted at in the previous entry, Omega was like an excitable kid on Christmas morning when he revealed Iwashita's involvement.

The upshot of this is that AEW's game is likely to follow No Mercy's template. Maybe not graphically (at least not 100% graphically), but more when it comes to button layouts. That's great, because AKI's trailblazer is still adored for a reason.
