8 Things You NEED To Know About AEW’s Video Games
2. Intergender Matches Are Featured
Here's something that was very eye-catching.
Generally, WWE video games shy away from male on female violence. 2K's games have offered mixed tags and other intergender scenarios in the past, but men fight men and women fight women for the most part. That doesn't seem to the case in Yuke's new AEW series.
The trailer made a point of showing Hikaru Shida dishing out pain to Kenny Omega. For now, it's all one-sided - Omega didn't fire back and blast the AEW Women's Champ with a One Winged Angel or anything. Still, early gameplay footage suggests that the new game will feature intergender matches.
This could be a cool unique selling point for Yuke's. AEW is a rather progressive company, and they might fancy opening up the gender divide to let sexes collide in-game. Why not? Games are fantasy, and players should be able to do almost everything they imagine.
Plus, Omega vs. Shida would likely tear the house down anyway.
