8 Times Video Game Violence Went Too Far This Generation

6. The Walking Dead Season 3's Badger Execution

The Walking Dead Season 3
Telltale Games

Despite being a cell-shaded game, The Walking Dead has always had the ability to shock. Just like its comic book counterpart, the stylised presentation of the title doesn't make the violence any less impactful, and multiple times over the series the game has pushed the boundaries of video game violence to the extreme.

The third season however features perhaps the most explicitly brutal death in the whole franchise. After finally getting the upper hand on Badger, one of the game's main villains, the player is given the option to enact some sweet revenge by bashing his head in with a baseball bat.

Fans of the series know that death by baseball bat is one of the worst ways to go in this universe, and the game doesn't shy away from showing the carnage that the signature weapon can cause.

While you can stop before completely decimating the guy, you can continue bringing down the pain over and over again until his face is nothing but mulch.
